Questions about installation and service.
Practical answers about planning, installation, existing equipment and starting a CAtech project.
Where do you work?
CAtech serves all of New Jersey, with a focus on Newark and nearby cities. Tell us your ZIP code and project needs so we can discuss the next step.
Can you help with an existing system?
Yes. We can assess a repair or upgrade as well as a new installation. Existing equipment, access credentials and compatibility help determine what can be reused.
What happens after I request an estimate?
Once your request is saved, you receive a reference. We review your requirements and contact you to clarify the scope and arrange the appropriate next step. A request is not a final quote or a booked appointment.
Do I need to choose equipment first?
No. Describe the problem or the areas you want to improve. We can discuss equipment after understanding the property, wiring and intended use.
Can you work with my existing cameras?
Tell us the brand, model and the problem you are seeing. Reuse depends on equipment condition, access credentials and compatibility; we review those before recommending replacement.
Can recording continue without internet?
A local recorder can continue recording if the cameras, local network and recorder still have power and are configured for local recording. Remote viewing generally requires an internet connection.
Do I need to know how many cameras I need?
No. Start with the areas that matter: an entrance, driveway, stockroom or shared space. The final number and placement follow a review of the property.
Can I use cards, fobs or a phone?
Available credentials depend on the selected platform and hardware. We discuss user needs and any subscription or licensing dependencies before choosing equipment.
Can an existing door be used?
Often, but door condition, frame, lock and exit hardware need to be assessed first. Share the type and approximate number of doors in your request.
Will a faster internet plan fix my Wi-Fi?
Not necessarily. Compare a wired connection with Wi-Fi near the router and in the affected room. That helps distinguish the internet connection from coverage or local network problems.
Can existing cable be reused?
Existing cabling can be considered after checking its condition, terminations and suitability for the equipment. We do not assume every cable is ready for a new system.
Is this an emergency or alarm monitoring service?
The website is for project and service requests. It does not provide emergency dispatch or imply 24/7 monitoring. Contact the appropriate emergency service for an immediate emergency.
